In March 2003 Eric Chou arranged an invitation for me to be the Sir Edward Youde Visiting Professor at Chinese University of Hong Kong. He was able to arrange simultaneously a visit for Michele Boldrin. I presented a public lecture on our joint work on intellectual property/monopoly. Still pictures of the lecture are below, the slides I used are here, and here are videos of the first and second half of the lecture. (Warning: the video files are very large - on the order of 250MB.) During the time we were there, Michele and I were able to complete a draft of the first four chapters of our book Against Intellectual Monopoly. We are grateful both to Chinese University and to Eric for making possible this visit, and for the many good insights we gained into intellectual monopoly during our stay.
