Respond to the question: Symmetric Mixed Nash Equilibria?

10/18/2007 06:20 PM by name withheld; Symmetric Mixed Nash Equilibria
I am having trouble with the following question for The Minimum Unique Positive Integer Game (See the attached pdf file for complete details).

Question #3: Let there be n >= 3 players. If p represents a Nash Equilibrium, show that there is no maximum integer k for which pk > 0.

Hint: suppose for the sake of contradiction that such a k exists. Let alpha be the mixed action profile represented by p. Show that k is not a best pure response to alpha_{k-1}; then use the support characterization.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. [Manage messages]
